About Us

the western edge of Windsor and was built in 1952 to serve new housing being built in the area. We currently have 203 children on roll and a staff team of 50 adults. Our website aims to give you helpful information about our aims, general organisation and activities and provide you with an insight into the varied opportunities that are available to the children at Dedworth Green First School.

Our main aim is to provide high quality of teaching and learning and to improve the enjoyment and education of all the children in our care.

Our friendly staff team is clearly committed to providing a secure and happy environment in which all children are able to thrive socially, emotionally and academically. This is built on the strong relationships fostered by all members of the school community. Our children are highly motivated, well behaved and truly delightful to teach!

When we were last inspected by OFSTED, we were judged as “good” in all the main categories with many outstanding features. The inspection report found that:

“The outstanding curriculum and consistently good teaching have created a positive and exciting learning environment in which all pupils are able to enjoy and achieve. Dedworth Green First School is a very friendly, inclusive school that enables each child to develop at an individual pace”.

As a school community, we have supportive parents and a very active Friends Association who raise over £6000 a year for the school. The Friends Association meets regularly as a group to organise fund raising events. Last year they provided the children with a new reading scheme and playground equipment and we are very grateful for their dedication, hard work and support.
